Fikri Işık was born on September 13, 1965 in Babacan, Gümüşhane. His father’s name is Tevfik and mother’s name is Mecbure.

Teacher, Businessman: Mr. Işık received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of Mathematics Education,Faculty of Education of the Middle East Technical University.

Mr. Işık served as a mathematics and English teacher at various private schools in İzmit and İstanbul. He also worked as a manager in food industry.

Mr. Işık became the member of the Executive Board and Deputy Chairman responsible for R&D issues at the provincial organization of Justice and Development Party in Kocaeli on October 20, 2001.

Mr. Işık became the Head of Provincial Organization of Justice and Development Party in Kocaeli on June 22, 2003 and served for four years.

He was elected as the Kocaeli Deputy of the Justice and Development Party in 23rd and 24th terms.

Mr. Işık served as the Regional Coordinator and Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party Central Organization between 2007 – 2013.

He was elected as the Head of the Commission for National Education, Culture Youth and Sports of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and served for one year at this post.

Mr. Işık is a member of the Alumni Association of the Middle East Technical University, Education, Culture and Fraternal Association of Hereke, Turkish Red Crescent Society, Green Crescent Society, Ay Işığı Fraternal Association for the Poor and the Orphaned and the Association of Gümüşhane Citizens at Kocaeli.

Mr. Işık is fluent in English and has intermediate knowledge of Arabic. Mr. Işık is married and has four children.
